The Everest area, known locally as Sagarmatha National Park – is home to some of the world’s highest peak as well as the famous Sherpa’s, Migrants from eastern Tibet who crossed over the Himalaya and settled here sometime in the late 1400s to early 1500s. This trek is one that goes deep into the heart of the Himalaya. The mountain views are stunning, and the simplicity and hospitality of the Sherpa community is heartwarming. The Pikey Danda (hill) 4065m, is one of the tallest hills of Solu. The Name Pikey is derived from a Sherpa clan deity. During the month of July the locals hold celebrations to worship their clan god, the eastern Chyabo Pikey, as Pikey Halpchen Karbu in the celebrations. During the festival time performs cleansing ritual at its sacred lakes with thousands of devotees & hundreds of Shamans walks to the lake for the festival from the villages of all around Solukhumbu region. Pikey trek commences with the scenic flight from Kathmandu to Phaplu, a Himalayan Settlement. In this trek we pass through the beautiful settlements of various ethnic groups, forest of rhododendron flower, wild orchid and valleys etc. as well as enjoying the beautiful landscapes and scenery.
We will visit the ancient Buddhist Monastery of Thupten Cholling as well as enjoy the unique Sherpa culture with their friendliness & life style. This trek is also popular for the superb Himalayan Scenery including Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Gaurishankar, Mt. Numbur, Mt. Kantega, Mt. Thamserku, and Mt. Karylung and the stunning sunrise and sunset view can be the other attraction of this trek. The trail passes through some of the most beautiful settlements in the region. We begin the trip by taking the awe-inspiring trans-Himalaya flight to Phaplu. During the trek we pass through different villages like Phaplu, Salleri, Dorpu, Ghunsa, Pattale, Jhapre, Pikey Base Camp, Junbesi, Ringmo, and Salleri.
