Today we will fly to Paro from Kathmandu. When you arrive at Paro airport, the authorities will stamp your passport with a visa. It is necessary to carry your visa approval letter and two passport size photos with you. Upon arrival, your guide will be present to greet you and assist you in reaching your 3-star hotel in Paro.

Today's itinerary is quite busy. Initially, we will explore the ruined fortress of Drukgyel Dzong, which is a combination of a fortress and a Buddhist monastery situated in the upper region of Paro District in Bhutan. According to beliefs, Tenzin Drukdra built this Dzong in 1649 to commemorate his victory over the invading Tibetans. Later, we will embark on a hike to Taktsang Monastery, which takes about 45 minutes and is a steep trek that traverses through villages and a pine forest. The monastery is situated on the edge of a massive granite cliff, 800 meters away from the Paro valley. In the afternoon, we will proceed through the beautiful valley to reach the museum, situated inside the Ta-Dzong building. King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck established the museum in 1968, and it has seven floors, displaying various aspects of Bhutanese culture and history that date back to the 7th century. From there, we can take a short walk downhill to reach the Rinpung Dzong, which serves as the administrative center and school for monks. Later in the afternoon, we will drive for around two hours and cover 65 kilometers to reach the capital city of Thimphu, where we will spend the night in a 3-star hotel.

Today's schedule includes a visit to several important locations in Bhutan. Firstly, we will visit the Memorial Chorten, constructed in honor of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Next, we will explore the Changangkha Monastery, which dates back to the 15th century, and the Motithang Takin Preserve, where we can see the rare Takin, which is Bhutan's national animal. Furthermore, we will take a glimpse at the stunning Thimphu Valley from a vantage point. We will also drop by the new Drupthob Nunnery Monastery. Following that, we will drive for roughly three hours to Wangdue Phodrang via the Dochula Pass, which has an altitude of 3100 meters. If the weather is clear, we will get a chance to view the eastern mountain ranges and Bhutan's highest peak, Mt.Gangkhar Puensum (7570m). Descending through the pass, we will reach the valleys of Lobesa and then onto Wangdue Phodrang Dzong to explore the markets. We will spend the night at a 3-star hotel in Wangdue Phodrang.

In the morning, we will travel for approximately 45 minutes to reach Punakha and explore the Punakha Dzong, which served as the former capital of Bhutan. This remarkable fortress was constructed between two rivers and has endured natural calamities such as glacial floods and fire outbreaks. Every February, a procession called the Punakha Serda is held to celebrate the Bhutanese victory over the Tibetans. In the afternoon, we will drive for about three hours to Thimphu, where we will have lunch and then continue our journey for two more hours to Paro via the Simtokha Dzong. This ancient building is the oldest in Bhutan and is now a Buddhist university. We will be staying at a 4-star hotel and our meals will be provided.
